Rainy Day

The rain out the front door

After waiting what seems like forever, it finally rained for most of this week. We can see on the radar that it is moving off and the tail end should be gone before lunch time. I had been waiting for the rain, telling myself that I would embrace it when it came, with knitting, favorite music on the iPod, soup in the crockpot, and copious amounts of tea. That was my fantasy.

The truth is that not much of that happened, except for maybe a small amount of knitting. And the soup was from a can. You know what? It’s been DARK here the last few days with this rain, and now I am longing for the light of the sun. It’s pretty much like me to want what I don’t have at the moment.

The kids are away today with grandparents and I don’t have to work more than a couple of hours. Maybe today will be the day to catch up on all that knitting. (And the laundry, and the shopping, and the housework, and, and, and… sigh.)

Quiet Saturday

Not much going on right now. My DS pestered my DH to take him to the Halloween store up the street, and DD went with them. So at the moment I am alone. I don’t know why, but PBS kids sprout is still on in the background. I can’t believe I am too lazy to just go across the room and turn it off. I should be enjoying the quiet. But often, I don’t know how to do that.

I decided to add a library page to this blog. I love books! And I have lots of them. There’s not much on the Library page right now but it will continue to grow, so check back often!

You Know? I think I’ve got it!

I know, it’s been a VERY long time since I’ve written a post at all. But I’ve had some amount of dislike for this blog from the beginning. I think it had to do with the blog’s overall appearance. Trivial, I know, but if it is going to be MY space, then it has to look like something I would do, yes?

So I finally tweaked the theme of the blog to include one of my own photos that I took, and my favorite colors. Now it pleases me. Let’s hope it makes the difference. I need motivation to write more, so hopefully this will do it. Wish me luck!
